The Capital
City Mulligan Band is supported largely by the dues paid by our
members. Our financial resources also benefit from the
generous donations our patrons make at our concerts. These
funds are used to cover our various expenses including rental of
facilities for rehearsals and performances, token compensation
for our Conductor, administrative expenses such as insurance and
printing, and purchases of music scores and equipment.
Our Band has now been designated by the Internal Revenue Service
as a 501(c)(3) organization. Donors can deduct
contributions they make to the Band under IRC Section
170. See IRS letter for
details.
We will graciously appreciate and acknowledge any donations you
are able to make. These donations will be used to
purchase additional equipment and music and hopefully to reduce
our future membership fees.
Checks may be made payable to:
Capital City Mulligan Band
They
may be mailed to:
Capital City Mulligan Band
C/O Neil Barson
7882 Cross Fox Dr.
Boise, ID 83709
You may,
of course, deliver a check directly to Neil if
you are a Band Member or would like to visit us for a rehearsal
on a Saturday morning.
Our rehearsal schedule and rehearsal details are available at this
website.
Please note that we cannot consider payment of membership fees
to be donations to our organization.
Non-cash donations may be accepted if approved by our Board of
Directors
We also suggest that donors who have an IRA and are of the age
such that they have a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) might
consider the possibility of a donation to our tax-exempt
organization through a Qualified Charitable Distribution
(QCD). Please consult your financial advisor or tax
advisor for guidance on this opportunity. You may find
that this approach allows you to reduce your taxable income even
though you may be taking the standard deduction.
